a little sci-fi electro made using electricity and wires.
Youtube is being weird about embedding this one but I'll try...

Re: new tune - for science
Yep, that part was controlled by the theremin. On the modular, unlike a traditional theremin which has its own oscillator (or voice), this one just emits voltages, one that's on or off when your hand or body gets near, another that's variable, related to how close your hand is. The latter can be sent as pitch control to whatever module you feel like, and the on/off or gate can be used for a smooth envelope or a switch - I'm using it semi-traditionally here having it trigger Deckard's Voice (anolog recreation of the vintage expensive synth used in Bladerunner and the Stranger Things soundtrack), but you can use it as a switch, or a filter wah-wah control (instead of your foot like normal), or whatever you feel like plugging it into, which is why modular is fun. If some input is expecting a nice tame electrical signal like a slow sine wave, feed it audio and see what happens. Or divert your smooth control signal through a distortion module and make things less tame.Mr. Marty wrote: Mon Apr 04, 2022 11:40 pm There ya go. Good tune. Is that the theramin. Sounds like a saw blade and bow. I do like the melody.

Thank you! I'm pretty happy with how it turned out since I was tired and had zero plan when I started haphazardly putting it together.Heigen5 wrote: Tue Apr 05, 2022 11:06 am I listened to this in the yesterday and wow, quiet a big master-piece! Thanks! Yep that's a theremin, the antenna doesn't show up well on camera always (esp. with me running it) but that's what the hand waving was about.Ashley wrote: Wed Apr 06, 2022 5:50 am This sounds awesome, so melodic, this is one of the best song structured songs with the modular and what sounds like a Theremin thrown in there too. love the break down too, great stuff Morgan, great beat too, well done!![]()
