Yep, that part was controlled by the theremin. On the modular, unlike a traditional theremin which has its own oscillator (or voice), this one just emits voltages, one that's on or off when your hand or body gets near, another that's variable, related to how close your hand is. The latter can be sent as pitch control to whatever module you feel like, and the on/off or gate can be used for a smooth envelope or a switch - I'm using it semi-traditionally here having it trigger Deckard's Voice (anolog recreation of the vintage expensive synth used in Bladerunner and the Stranger Things soundtrack), but you can use it as a switch, or a filter wah-wah control (instead of your foot like normal), or whatever you feel like plugging it into, which is why modular is fun. If some input is expecting a nice tame electrical signal like a slow sine wave, feed it audio and see what happens. Or divert your smooth control signal through a distortion module and make things less tame.

Thanks! Yep that's a theremin, the antenna doesn't show up well on camera always (esp. with me running it) but that's what the hand waving was about.
