I'm gonna try to not smoke tobacco at least the whole weekend

Post by Heigen5 »

Usually I've failed in that, but darn me, if I even can't be without sigs for just few days.
I didn't smoke for 10 hours in row and already then I felt a lot healthier.

And I need to learn to not smoke while drinking beer, as drinking beer calls out the smoking habits too.
I'd save 180€ a month, if I'd quit, so that's also a good reason to quit.
And my health would get a big boost too and the food would taste good.
So there's plenty of advances to gain.

Go! :waving: :party1:

180 Euros is a decent synth module per month is how I'd look at that ;) Hope you can do it.

It's hard to give up a habit of a life time, it's normally after you have children, you stop. That's why I haven't, I wish you well on your journey to pack it in. I think I enjoy it too much to stop. Bro.

Well yeah, I ended up smoking again, but I'm gonna do another round without smoking. I think I can do it at some point and quit.
I feel like my free will needs some practicing before I can refuse smoking tobacco. I feel like I'm a slave of a determinism. Like Ivan said, it is a lifetime habit so it's not as easy as it looks. But hell, I want to quit and turn a new page in my life. And yeah @ $Bill, 180€ in every month is a big amount of money, I could buy myself all kinds of stuff.

And Alisha, thanks for believing in me, - well I'm gonna give a new shot at it, haha..

You could set yourself a date to give up, and get all your shit together ❤️, but you have to really want to pack them in buddy, it comes from you, but I admire the thought, I've set to give up in 5 years, yes I know that might sound a bit mad. But I have alot going on and I enjoy my smoke

Haha, yeah, well having a smoke can sometimes be a spot on thing to do. The money I'd save makes it tempting to quit though.
I have a plan that I mostly quit, but when it's a birthday, a new year's eve etc, I might have a cigar. :dunno:

My quit smoking advice,,,,as a former smoker,,,, Smoking is often used as a reward. At least it was for me. Finish a task, go outside for a smoke. Discover some new process or method, go outside for a smoke. It was all about the reward. It took three things for me to quit,

I made a promice to my kids.
I relaized it was a reward mechanism. I replaced it with something else.
I got over the nicotine withdrawals by chewoing on popcicle sticks. That took abotu a month.

Not saying this will for for you but it did work for me.

Yeah, it is true that lots of us see it as rewarding yourself. It's like a pitstop you want to do. I might be able to quit at some point, but it requires a lifestyle change. :8)I:

Not really a lifestyle change. I'm still the same asshole I was before I quit. Finding another reward does not necessarily change your life. If you look at it as a lifestyle issue then you are just making excuses. I found that I really hated tobacco smoke. You will definitely smell better.
