So are there any advantages to owning an actual synth unit over using the synths in a DAW? They are both computer generated sound?

Of course I could turn around and say the same about guitar sounds, especially with electrics. Unless you are using an actual tube amp all electric guitar sounds are pretty much modeled sounds by a chip..

Hey man. If it floats your boat, who cares about its history.

This one is analog. Clone of a vintage circuit.
The digital parts deal with midi, sequencing and key tracking ... not the sound generation.
It doesn’t have memory for the sounds... just the sequencer. So the sounds are manipulated on the fly. Honestly it’s a bit more .... intimate.

These days software /what’s in your daw probably does sound ‘better’
I just prefer working this way.

That’s a good response. I understand that completely.

I own both Logic and FL Studios and the choices of different synths I have, I can’t keep up with. Logic also has a good selection of older synths in the line up.

I have used Logic in the past and it works very well. My Korg keyboard controller I find is great with it, even in Reaper, really anything Korg you know it's going to be fuckin awesome, congrats on your purchases.

That’s a good selection of synthesis styles..... but those interfaces, ugh.
