Rain, so no snow over there?
I live just over 30 degrees north of equator, about 30 minutes away from Florida. It never snows here. Well I have seen it snow twice, Once it even left about an inch on the ground for about 15 minutes. I have seen ice once. This area is decidely tropical. Hurricanes and all.

It was originally written by Sammy Cahn. It has been sung by many including Sinatra. Never was a fan. The Die Hard movie version was sung by Vaughn Monroe. This was the first recording. He sounds very much like Robert Mitchem. Deep bold voice. That is who I thought of when I first heard it in the movie.

NIght of the Hunter was one of his better movies. This movie is part of the film history repertoire.
Film Noir if you will.
Really creepy.
He was an action hero before there was action heros.
Love - Hate

Mitchum was a "bad boy" in his day. He did some jail time for pot possession in the late 1940s. It did not hurt his career in the long run. That bad boy persona helped him in the 1950s because he was one of the consistent actors in "film noir" movies. He played some serious bad guys and played them well. Ever get the chance, watch Cape Fear.
He was also a singer. In musicals he played in, he was talented enough, where he sang the parts of his character. Most actors lip synched their musical parts in those days.

That was before De Niro's time. He was in the remake. Mitchum and Gregory Peck also were also in the remake. It was Peck's last film role before he died.
