F&$#ing Republicans just took away voting rights in Georgia
Well the bill that the Georgia state legislators were designing to steal elections has passed and been signed by the feckless governor. The most talked about parts of the bill are limits to voting times, limited mail in votine. identifications for all mail in votes. It is now illegal to give out snacks and water in long voting lines.
But, what is more damaging is the ability to negate any election result in any county in the state if the appointed members of the new election board do not like the results. So much for my vote counting. Fuck Tards! All Republicans cand kiss my saggy pasty white ass.
The Governor just signed the bill. It is now law. The bill was signed behind closed doors away from public eyes. One state representative who wanted to witness the signing was arrested for knocking of the door. Disturbance of official state business or something like that.
I am pissed.

I’m sure it’s somehow Trumps fault.

They made it illegal, to give food and water to someone in line, waiting to vote. Think about that one! And yes, it is Trump still controling the Republican Party. Though voter suppression has been a staple of the party for a long time. As the demographics of the population of areas change, they are concerned they will no longer be able to win elections. So rather than come up with governing policies that could make them more attractive to the larger voting population, they come up with suppression tactics. Not only that, but this is their only policy. That and using fear of brown people to keep their base fired up.

I do not see it as an Orange Baboon issue. He has nothing to do with this. This has been stewing in the pot in Georgia for years, long before Trump ran for president. He just provided them with the balls to do this.
As hnry said, it is about retaining power with undemocratic means; rather than come up with a platform that people might support.
They use suppression to retain power, and that is what this is all about. Nothing else.
I do not see these people as Republicans. They are scared bigots wishing for a past that will never be again.
It is not about ideals or opinions of governance. This is why Trump appeals to these people.
His ideal of retaining power at all costs fits right in with these assholes desires, despite widely varying motivations.

Handing out food and water to people at a voting station is a type of voter manipulation. It’s accepting a gift .... on behalf of a candidate. It’s campaigning. This time it’s water... next time it’s steak and blowjobs.... just remember who you’re supposed to vote for!
There was an antisex feminist (Gail Dines) that used to bake cookies and give them ‘for free’ to people in line before a debate. Iirc it’s in Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals Who are you going to side with ? The dirty whores of the world or the nice little lady that made cookies just for you!?
the dirty whores I’d say ymmv

On the flip side of that, they are reducing the number of polling places in minority neighborhoods, to make it so people have to stand for long hours in lines to vote. The idea could also be to discourage people from voting, when they have to wait so long to have access to food or water.Lasagna Pirate wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 6:52 pmHanding out food and water to people at a voting station is a type of voter manipulation. But what the reporting doesn’t tell you is the other side.... sure some are closing, but how many are newly opened.Trobador222 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 7:14 pm

This time the polling station could be in a small venue like a library, but next time it could be in a larger venue somewhere else.
I don’t get some of this though, surely limiting /suppressing voters cuts both ways? You’re not just affecting your opponent.
No one is trying to steal your right to vote.
Except Commies.

Nope, they reduced polling places big time in Georgia. It is happening and Georgia is probably the worse using this tactic.Lasagna Pirate wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 7:26 pmBut what the reporting doesn’t tell you is the other side.... sure some are closing, but how many are newly opened.Trobador222 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 7:14 pm

I will say it once again. Dane you do not have a dog in this fight. You do not live here. You are not aware of what is happening on the ground. Just keep listening to Fox News. All is hunky dory.
You are welcome to come down here during the primaries and stand in line in the hot Georgia sun and humidity. But then again, you have no skin in this game so you can leave when it gets too hot for you.
Not only are the polling stations limited as well as the drop boxes, but the voting times are now set to close at 5:00 PM. The average person who works all day does not have the time to vote. Access to absentee ballots is now limited as well as requiring a photo ID.
Limiting the number of votes does not effect both sides equally. Patterns show that limiting votes favors the Right. The majority of votes on the election day are Right. The majority of votes in absentee and extended times are Left. This is why all states with republican legislators are so keen to limit votes.
But, again, while these are suppression issues, the big wrong is the ability to change a countys board of electors and nullify an election if the state republican legislators do not like the results of an election. This is exactly what Trump was requesting the Secretary of State to do. By Georgia law this new law is illegal for the same reason that Trump has his tit in a wringer over his attempts to change the outcome of the Georgia elections.

Sounds like Vietnam, Iraq, Nicaragua and a bunch of other wee countries need to form a Coalition Of The Willing to invade the US, overthrow the tyrannical kleptocracy and restore democracy to the poor benighted Yanquis.

Nah, doubt we'd want them now. Too full of weirdos.
