Over the last 5 years or so, a bunch of us have been running a DIY punk record label called Serial Bowl Records, and we've been putting on gigs very regularly - typically twice a month, sometimes more. It's grown and developed to a point where we've kind of established our local pub as a fixture on the tour circuit for a lot of bands on the DIY punk scene, including quite a few European bands and a couple of American one's too. Hell, we even caused a load of other local pubs to start putting on punk gigs again, trying to cash in on it. I remember Mick from Loudmouth telling me that when he was playing in Germany, he kept getting people asking him about the Museum Vaults in Sunderland, where we put on our gigs. Apparently there was a load of German punks had heard of it and wanted to play there.

Canny mad when I think about it. But that's all just ground to a halt. It's going to take a long while to regain that momentum, and with Brexit and that shit, it's going to be reduced anyway, since it's now far harder for European bands to tour the UK. Proper shit move that was like.

Anyway, we're scheduled to have our first come-back gig at Hallowe'en, and there's a couple of others booked in too, so hopefully the year will end on an upper.
