Hi everybody. I just finished copying over my music files, programmes and plugins onto my new computer.
My DAW opens my entire project in like less than 1 second. OMFG how is that for performance haha. I’m loving it, and I love the new reaper default dark-mode. It looks so pretty I must say.
So yes I’m back in business to make some new music on my new computer. I am really so happy how fast it is, what would usually take 5 minutes to load, like on my old lappy is just under 1 second on my new compy, like instant!! Wow so blown away. If you are ever thinking of upgrading, do! it’s one of the best things you can do, if your workflow is slow. I don’t have to wait for anything, instead it’s the computer waiting for me haha. Also my big 4K screen is immaculate and good to see the programme on a big screen. I’ll be coming up to 40 next year so anything other than a large 4K screen, is hard to see on little screens. Oh and my lovely Cherry-Brown switches – (lights-up) Keyboard is amazing, I upgraded everything this time!!
So yes my new baby is hot fast for processing power and doing computations and calculations, I am blown away with it’s performance. I’ll probably put some more RAM in it at some stage, but it’s pretty good right now. I took a screen-shot of my DAW open and the last song I made on my old lappy titled (In the End). So yes my new song copied over perfectly and easy.
So in summary it only took me about 40 minutes to get everything back up and running again fully with my new compy. File transfer from my SSD to my HDD for backup – is inbuilt in my computer and is really fast, so any backup I do I can do locally on the same machine. My files just get backed up from my SSD to my 2TB hard drive within my computer. I don’t need to plugin external hard drives or anything like that.
Anyway I’ll leave you with my Screen-shot of my new DAW running my last song file, just were I left off now on my new compy!! I’ll catch you all later have a great end of your week everybody!!
